Compare the Ram 1500

2019 Ram 1500

The market for pickup trucks is very competitive these days. This means you're spoiled for choice and they are all, quite frankly, very good. However, the brand-new 2019 Ram 1500 for sale at Yark Auto offers a whole range of engines, innovations and technology that make it stand out from the rest. Read up on the key features of the Ram 1500 and two of its main rivals, then hurry in for a test drive. We're in Toledo, OH, and would be honored to help you find your next truck.

2019 Ram 1500 vs. 2018 Ford F-150

Engines: The standard engine in the 2019 Ram 1500 is a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque. Compare that to the 2018 Ford F-150's base engine, a 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. Topping the Ram 1500 engine options is a new mild hybrid eTorque system added to the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine to produce 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Ford's 5-liter V8 produces 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque without the added hybrid ability and efficiency of the Ram engine.

Technology: Ram absolutely dominates the interior tech department with the new Uconnect® 12.0 infotainment system which comes with a massive, customizable 12-inch touchscreen display. The system easily trumps Ford's SYNC® 3 system. To top it off, Ram offers an incredible Harman Kardon® Premium Sound system with 19 speakers.

Innovation: An innovative feature of the Ram 1500 is the available RamBox® Cargo Management System built right into the sides of the truck bed. The F-150 does not offer a feature like this.

2019 Ram 1500 vs. 2018 GMC Sierra

Engines: The base V6 option on the 2018 GMC Sierra is a 4.3-liter unit that produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. The Ram also compares well to the Sierra's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine that develops 420 horsepower. The 2018 Sierra has a max V8 tow rating of 12,500 pounds which is bested by the eTorque HEMI® offered in the 2018 Ram 1500 which offers a max tow rating of 12,750 pounds.

Technology: GMC offers a good infotainment system with a touchscreen, but it's nowhere near as large and easy to use as Ram's Uconnect® 12.0 system, which offers a convenient split screen mode allowing you to keep an eye on the navigation and switch to a new playlist. Both trucks offer USB ports to keep devices charged and ready to go.

Innovation: An innovation offered in the Ram 1500 that is not offered in the Sierra, or any other pickup truck, is an optional reclining rear seat.
